Football.London reports that the Frenchman, signed from Ligue 1 club Lyon in the summer for a club-record fee, is unlikely to be fit to face the Gunners on Sunday.
He was absent from Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United and has not been included in France’s squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Albania and Andorra.
The report states that he hasn’t been training with the group and is instead set to make a comeback after the international break; Spurs play Crystal Palace on September 14th.
And supporters have been left bereft by the news, particularly given his excellent showings thus far this season, including a debut goal in the 3-1 victory over newly-promoted Aston Villa on the opening weekend of the 2019/20 season.
