da dobrowin: The FA have told England manager Roy Hodgson that it is up to him whether he chooses to play Ashley Cole against San Marino this Friday, according to the Guardian.
da fezbet: Cole has joined up with Hodgson’s squad ahead of the two upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifiers and Tuesday’s grand opening of St George’s Park, despite launching an attack on The FA in a tweet last Friday.
The governing body have charged the Chelsea defender but will only issue him with a fine, leaving Roy Hodgson with the final decision on whether he plays or not.
It is believed Everton midfielder Leighton Baines will be given the nod ahead of Cole against San Marino on Friday at Wembley, but the Chelsea left-back will return to the side to face Poland on Tuesday night in Warsaw.
This means Cole may have to wait until November, or even as late as next year, to collect his 100th England cap.
