da bet sport: Everton manager David Moyes has stated that he hopes his players will not be distracted by their FA Cup semi-final date with rivals Liverpool, and wants his team to concentrate on their league position.
The Toffees drew 2-2 with Norwich on Saturday to leapfrog the Reds into seventh place, and the Scottish head coach wants to finish as high as possible in the Premier League.
“It would be naive if people were not in some way thinking of the semi-final, but I hope not and I would be disappointed if they were,” Moyes told The Telegraph.
“We are in a pretty good league position and better than maybe we thought we were going to be. We want to try to hang on to that if we can.
“All you can ever do is focus on the next game, which is always important. We made some changes for Norwich to make sure we kept the squad as fresh as we can and we will try to get them as focused and competitive as we can on Monday,” he concluded.
